Greetings! I would like to express the most sincere gratitude to my faithful readers who take time from their busy lives to see what Feeding Your Life has to share.
Your enthusiasm for improving your health and increasing your happiness is so very appreciated. ...................................................
It is natural in Spring to crave lighter meals, sunlight and fresh air. The earth renews itself at this time, and the body seeks to do the same - but do we allow it to do so?
It isn't difficult to provide our bodies with the nutrition to be able to perform this natural process of renewal, once we understand the effects of the choices we make on our bodies.
Due to the success of the Spring Detox class, we are offering a 2-hour "Crash Course" for anyone who missed the 4-week opportunity, but is interested in reducing their chronic symptoms by allowing the body to do exactly what it craves: renew and rejuvenate.
As a follow-up to both courses, this month's cooking class is dedicated to cooking for natural detoxification. (Cooking classes book fast, so please call early if you are interested.) ......................................................
Spring is a busy time of year for us... Scroll down to see all of our many May events, plus the health-giving recipe of the month!
~Hope to see you at a Feeding Your Life event soon~
Wishing you vibrant health,
Jennifer

Crash course: Spring Cleaning Inflammation & Detoxification One night only - May 27
If you missed our 4-week group class on natural detoxification and cleansing, this is your chance to catch up!
Inflammation is at the root of virtually
every ailment, disease and discomfort in the body.
It is the natural response the body utilizes to fight infections, repair
injuries and maintain a balanced environment.
And it starts in your gut.
Too many calls for an inflammatory response can cause the body
to remain inflamed for longer periods of time, or worse, become unable
to turn off the inflammation at all, causing pain, chronic symptoms, and worst of all, preventing the body from being able to naturally detoxify.
In one 2-hour class, we will summarize
the highlights of the 4-week course and provide the tools to start
reducing inflammation in your body immediately with our "add-in"
strategy for long-term success.
From 7:30-8:30pm at Kings Park office
Fee: $35/week - join with a friend and save $5
Payment is due in full at time of registration by check or credit card

Checks may be made payable to Feeding Your Life, Inc. and mailed to Feeding Your Life, 102 Main St., Kings Park, NY 11754For more information, click here to contact Jennifer or call 347-564-3600

Recipe of the Month Kale
with White Beans & garlic
Kale is one of the most health-giving foods you can put into your body. It is a phenomenal course of calcium and magnesium, as well as Vitamin K, needed for healthy blood clotting. Kale looks like a scrub brush, which is appropriate, as it serves to scrub out the intestines and draw out accumulated foods and toxins. This meal is so satisfying, you won't need anything else for dinner.
1 cup cannellini beans, soaked overnight 2 cups water 1 bay leaf 1 cup vegetable stock 1 bunch kale, stemmed and coarsely chopped 2 cloves garlic, sliced 1/4 tsp dried rosemary sea salt to taste Discard soaking water from beans. Bring beans to a boil in fresh water and skim off any foam that rises. Add bay leaf and cover to simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Season with sea salt and continue to cook for 20 more minutes, or until beans are soft.
Place kale in a deep skillet and cook over medium heat with stock for 3-5 minutes, until wilted and bright green. Add beans, garlic, rosemary and salt and cook over medium heat for another 5 minutes. Do not overcook.
