Joining us from his studio in Berlin, animator and director Lucas Zanotto spoke with BridgeThink's Don Burton via skype about fusing classic stop-motion animation with digital motion graphics, his creative roots and even some cliff jumping in Ecuador.


ZANOTTO_6Lucas started his career as a product and graphic designer, graduated in Milan and worked in several international design studios before moving into motion graphics and directing. His work can be described as highly expressive yet minimal and can be seen in spots for MTV and Nickelodeon as well as independent and museum based films. His work has received a Golden Design Lion in Cannes, Gold at BDA Promax International in NY, and Best Promotional Animation at the Ottawa Animation Film Festival.

Lucas recently signed with the Stockholm and New York based production company, FilmTecknarna which is known for fusing live action, 2D and 3D animation to fuel cross-platform, narrative filmmaking.
