Signal Expansion Update:
Chickasha Translator Is On the Air!
KGOU photoKGOU's newest translator station is now broadcasting at 106.9 FM, bringing KGOU programs to listeners in Chickasha. We've been testing the signal and making minor adjustments for the past few weeks, and with the addition of one more electronic component that will be installed soon, we'll be able to bring the translator up to its full power.

The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha is an enthusiastic partner in this project, and we held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the USAO campus on Aug. 24 to officially kick off KGOU's service to Chickasha. You can see some photos on our Facebook page. A great big 'thank you' goes to our donors and partners who made this project possible!

We have two more signal expansion projects still ongoing -- in Ada and Woodward. We'll be working on completing those through the fall.

NPR's Lourdes Garcia-Navarro looks at the future of Gaza's youthful Palestinians and the role of Hamas in a five-part series beginning Monday, Aug. 30 on All Things Considered.

Digital Overload: Your Brain On Gadgets
Fresh AirSome scientists believe the constant stream of data coming into our brains from our computers, smart phones and other technological devices makes it increasingly difficult to concentrate. Wondering whether getting 'back to nature' could help them recharge, one group of researchers went on a week-long retreat 'off the grid'. Reporter Matt Richtel went along too, and talked with Fresh Air's Terri Gross about his resulting series in the New York Times. This interview topped the most viewed, most recommended and most e-mailed lists at NPR.org.
