Greetings!
Thanks to all of KGOU's friends who participated in our Be a Friend, Bring a Friend drive -- 1474 friends, 30 phone volunteers, Café Plaid and Jason's Deli. A few behind-the-scenes photos are posted on our Facebook page.
Together, we raised nearly $136,000, and with pledges continuing to come in, we're working toward successfully ending our fiscal year.
All the best,

Science Friday Arrives in Norman
The engineering crew is running wires and setting up microphones in anticipation of Talk of the Nation Science Friday's live broadcast tomorrow from the Reynolds Performing Arts Center on the University of Oklahoma Campus. The program airs from 1 - 3 p.m., but ticket holders need to be in their seats by 12:40 p.m. at the latest. Topics for the show are tornadoes, weathercasting and climate change, and wind power.
If you don't have a ticket, we'll have a "stand-by" line forming at 11:30 at the Reynolds Performing Arts Center. And there's now another option for the overflow crowd -- the show will be simulcast at the National Weather Center via a video link. Following the broadcast, everyone's invited to the National Weather Center for a reception, with remarks from Ira Flatow at about 4:30. Parking information is here, and a campus map can be found here.
Funding for this special event is from the University of Oklahoma President's Office, the OU Vice President for Research at Norman and the OU Vice President for Research at the Health Sciences Center.

NPR Audience Research Blog Goes Public
NPR's Audience Insight and Research group has joined the blogosphere with an inside look at the public radio listening audience, dissected and parsed as only demographers and statisticians can. Their new blog, Go Figure, is designed to connect with and learn from the NPR audience, public media professionals at local stations and elsewhere, and colleagues in research and media. If you're interested in what researchers know (or don't know) about the typical public radio listener, check it out and offer your own insight.
