Greetings!
We're in membership drive mode, so this is a shorter edition of the KGOU e-Newsletter. If you haven't yet gotten around to pledging or renewing your support, you can do so here.
Also, we have a few tickets left for Science Friday's live program in Norman on April 9. Reserve yours here.
In friendship,
Laura Knoll

ATC and TAL Collaboration:
Automakers' Lost Opportunities
The New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI) plant in Fremont, Calif., a joint venture between GM and Toyota, will close at the end of March. Some auto execs see NUMMI as a lost opportunity that could have saved GM, and a reminder of the very qualities that made Toyota a company worth emulating. NPR's Frank Langfitt reports tomorrow on All Things Considered and Saturday in a special hour-long report in collaboration with PRI's This American Life.

NPR Picture Show: Ghosts of the West
Craig Varjabedian's series of otherworldly photographs taken at Ghost Ranch, N.M., seem to be depictions of the idealized Western landscape mostly seen in movies and other unreal places. Varjabedian's series has been honored by the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum; you can see some of them on The Picture Show blog at NPR.org.
