In response to readers' suggestions, our Newsletter now features a monthly Q&A with an OAA Physician.

A Bone Density Screening Can Indicate Your Risk for OsteoporosisFree Bone Density Screenings at OAA

Osteoporosis is a disease of progressive bone loss associated with an increased risk of fractures. The disease often develops unnoticed over many years, with no symptoms or discomfort until a fracture occurs. Additionally, although osteoporosis occurs most commonly in post-menopausal women, there are several risk factors that put men and women of all ages at risk.

On Wednesday, 11/10, and Wednesday, 11/17, OAA will be offering free bone density screenings in our Diagnostic Imaging Center.

Lymphedema Management
some stages of lymphedema can be treated
Lymphedema is defined as the abnormal swelling of a body part due to illness, surgery, or trauma.  Lymphedema is common after cancer treatments and also after surgery. Some early stages of lymphedema can be treated successfully, while other stages need to be carefully managed.  OAA was the first orthopaedic group in the Lehigh Valley to offer Lymphedema Management as both a complement to surgical recovery, and as an independent therapy for other conditions. To date, we offer the most comprehensive treatment available. For more information, call 610-973-6257, or CLICK HERE.
