A Good Yarn Exclusive!
book60

I am excited to share with you the debut of a line of exclusive colorways at A Good Yarn.

As some of you know, by the pictures in the shop, my husband Murray is an avid diver and underwater photographer. After the success of A Good Beach, and the Gulf of Mexico colorways, we have decided to launch an entire line of colors based on his amazing photographs. In conjunction with
Sharon McMahon of Three Irish Girls, we will be debuting a new colorway every other month.

The first color is called Sea Flower. It is based from the colors in the photo Murray took of three clownfish in an anemone. The yarns will be available in many different weights from lace to bulky.

book60Sea Flower is available now in the shop or by calling 941-487-7914.

To read more of the story on the inspiration behind the yarn and the picture check out my new Blog!

By the way, because of the success of the Gulf of Mexico
colorway, we will be sending a check for $164 to the National Wildlife Federation to aid in the Gulf Oil Spill cleanup.
Thanks to all of you who helped make this happen!
Sally Waldo
New Instructor

Please help us welcome Sally Waldo as one of our new instructors. Not only is she an awesome knitter, she is a great teacher. Just ask any of her students  who took a class from her this weekend!
Meet Sally in her own words!

Knitting is my passion!  I credit my aunt with teaching me how to knit (just that; how to do a knit stitch and how to do a purl stitch) when I was around 10-12 years old.  I didn't know how to make anything. However, when I was expecting my first child I just knew I had to start knitting for her.  And, so I did.  I was pretty much self-taught figuring out what YO and K2tog meant from the scant information I could get my hands on

I knit as much as I could for several years until life just got too busy; raising two daughters alone, working, going back to school, etc.  I had less and less time for knitting and put my needles down for many years.   On occasion I would knit a small item or crochet a baby blanket, but that was it.

Then when my youngest daughter was expecting her first child I ventured into my local yarn shop in Northbrook, IL to pick out some yarn for a baby blanket and I was blown away!  If one could be seduced by yarn then I was and still am every time I walk into a well-appointed yarn shop.  I love the colors, textures, creativity of today's designers, and wealth of information so readily available.  I get a lot of happiness and joy from knitting and I love to share that with others.
