World famous author, designer, and knitter,
Maggie Jackson, is coming to A Good Yarn for a weekend filled with fun and learning!
Join us Friday January 29th, from 6-8 pm for a
Wine and Cheese night, and fashion show, as Maggie presents her beautiful works of art and inspires you to create your own !
On Saturday January 30th, we'll hold
"OH NO! Not another scarf!", and Maggie will show us some great techniques as we make blocks using rag yarn, create tubes, ladder stitch, and slits in our work. You can also use the project as a wall hanging, purse, table-runner, pillow etc and we will talk about more design ideas. We'll end with Maggie showing us some of her own finishing techniques.
To finish the weekend, on Sunday January 31st, Maggi will help us create
Wearable Art. Learning techniques for working with squares, you will create either a small wrap or scarf. All types of squares can be knitted, but we will focus on the more interesting ones including those with leather bows on a Single Ridge Stitch knit square, ruffle stitch with tubes, lacy stitch, knotted yarns square, tasseled square, fur square, as well as others.
