This year's concert will be held on Sunday, June 5, at 7:30 pm. It is called "Soul Songs: A Celebration of Piyutim." Piyutim are magnificant poems/songs inspired by liturgical traditions from the Persian, Iraqi, Moroccan, Spanish, Chassidic & Israeli communities. There are thousands of them and many, such as Yedid Nefesh and Yigdal, you are sure to recognize.
The concert will feature our own Cantor Rochelle Helzner, Rabbi Joshua Maroof of Magen David Sephardic Synagogue, and the world-music instrumental quartet Steve Bloom and ELAN. The group plays a combination of percussion, bass, mandolin, oud, guitar, flutes, recorder and sax.
Join us for this exciting and entertaining evening, and please consider a number of sponsorship opportunities to show your support for Cantor Helzner and Tikvat Israel. Sponsors enjoy reserved seating and the post-concert reception.
