"Falashas and Their Journey" to Be Explored  

At Special Weekend Program at Tikvat Israel

Charles Teller, adjunct professor at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia and George Washington University in D.C., will speak on "Falashas and Their Journey" Friday, March 4, as part of a special weekend program, "From Tesfa to Tikva: A Lens on Ethiopian Israelis." His talk will follow a kosher vegetarian Shabbat dinner, prepared by an Ethiopian chef.

 

Charlie is a member of Tikvat Israel. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology-demography from Cornell University and is currently Bixby Visiting Scholar at the Population Reference Bureau, where he is working on several books, articles and studies on Ethiopia. He has worked in more than 50 countries for U.S. and international organizations, including the U.S. Agency for International Development, the World Health Organization, the U.S. Peace Corps and the UN Population Fund.
