Dear Fellow Congregants:

As the Chair of the Tikvat Israel Nominating Committee, I am submitting to the entire Congregation the slate of Tikvat Israel Officers and Board members presented to and officially nominated at the December 19, 2010, Congregational meeting. The list of nominees can be found on the attached document.

The election will be held at the January 3, 2011, Congregational Annual Meeting and only those attending the meeting will be permitted to vote.

I would like to provide a brief explanation about this slate of Officers and Board members, who will take office in mid-January 2011.

·         There will be six people whose terms end in an officer election year, such as this one, and seven whose terms end in an off-year, as stipulated in the Tikvat Israel Bylaws.

·         Names in bold are nominees for terms that end in January 2013, with the exception of Rob Kline, who would fill out the remaining year of Rod Matheson's term as a Board member so that Rod can serve as First Vice President. Names not in bold are continuing in their terms or do not require congregational vote.

·         Kelcey Klass and Rosie Chernoff were both nominated from the floor on December 19 for the officer position of Broadman-Kaplan Early Childhood Center Co-ordinator. This is a contested position, and a selection will be made by secret ballot.

I look forward to seeing you at the January 3, 2011, congregational meeting at 7:00 pm. The meeting will conclude by, or break for, 7:30 pm minyan. Babysitting will be provided.
