SSSHHH!!
Don't tell anyone, but we're giving out our first "Jazz Bridge Award" on Sunday December 5th at the Sunday Jam Sessions at the La Rose Jazz Club, located in historic Germantown. Great food, in an intimate cabaret setting, and free parking at 5531 Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia. The board voted and one special person in the jazz and blues community will be receiving this award. The night is also a fundraiser for Jazz Bridge to replenish our general operating fund that helps our local musicians.
Tickets are $15-No Advance Sales. The fun starts at 6 p.m., so come and have a great time...but don't tell anyone who the award winner is, okay? We wouldn't want to spoil anything. |

The Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble is one of the Philadelphia area's most respected and long enduring jazz groups, playing big arenas, small venues, and touring around the world. Leader bassist Warren Oree has been nurturing this band's unique multi-rhythmic arrangements through nine CDs, the latest being Man Bites Dog. With Oree will be saxophonist Umar Raheem, drummer Greg "Ju Ju" Jones, guitarist Frank Butrey, and Doug "Pablow" Edwards on congas and percussion. See them in Collingswood this Thursday, Nov. 4th! ******************
Monnette Sudler has been a Philadelphia treasure for many years through her work with Khan Jamal, Grover Washington Jr., Sonnay Murray, Sam Rivers, and the Change of the Century Orchestra. Appearing with Monnette will be pianist Adam Faulk, bassist Steve Beskrone, and drummer Leesa Dawn Robinson. Don't miss her intimate performance at the Cheltenham Art Center tomorrow, Nov. 3rd! The Cheltenham concerts are partially funded by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
