QR Codes

QR stands for "Quick Response" and it is a quick and easy way to drive customers to your web site. After the code is generated, (which is a fairly simple process) it can be added to marketing materials such as business cards, ads, brochures and flyers. Your customers take a picture of it on their cell phone and "viola!", they are on your web site, learning more about you!

What is a YURT?

Yurt Brochure Our client, Road Trip Rentals, of Broad Run, VA is getting ready to offer a new way to camp. It is called the YURT and we designed this flyer as a way for our client to create a buzz and start a conversation to introduce it to everyone. Its unique structure is great for camping, its unique name is great for conversation, and its unique roof led to a great cover design. We also added a QR code to link to a page about YURTs on the Road Trip Rentals web site.

A YURT is a nomadic home designed to be lived in full time. These structures have been used by nomadic shepherds for thousands of years in the steppes of Central Asia. Today the term yurt typically refers to what is a hybrid variety of the combination between the original Mongolian Ger and Turkic uy. They are portable, comfortable, and very eco-friendly. Today's yurt takes advantage of improvements created by technology in design, engineering and materials. You can even camp in the comfort of heat or air conditioning. The fabrics are stronger, lighter, and more resistant to wind and rain. It works by way of compression from the weight of the roof framing and fabric evenly distributed down by means of the conical shape to the walls, which are held together by a tension cable. This combination of compression and tension is incredibly strong. It's a great way to camp at music festivals and other events.

QR Code DeCarlo Studios QR Code Basics

What is a QR Code? A QR code is a graphic symbol that is placed on your advertising that, when scanned by a device such as a cell phone, can link to a pre-determined page on your web site (or any other URL link). See the picture to the right for a sample of a QR code.

Why Use a QR Code?

Using a QR code is a quick and easy way for customers to find you on the web. They can be placed on any of your printed marketing materials. What about getting creative with your QR code? Try placing it on coffee cups, t-shirts, hats, bags, or stickers? If you are running a special offer, it's a good idea to designate a separate page on your web site for this offer. This way, you can better track how well the QR Code advertising campaign is working for you, by checking the number of hits on the page.

QR codes can be generated easily on the web site: http://www.qrstuff.com.

Simply follow the directions and place the QR code into your layout design. Contact DeCarlo Studios for assistance with your layout design or web page. We would be happy to help you reach your marketing goals!
