Happy New Year!
Tony DeCarlo PhotoJanuary 2012

Although it can happen at any time, the New Year always brings with it a renewed sense of willingness to set new goals and to find opportunities for improvement. Repetition and reinforcement of our goals, broken into small steps, will eventually become habit. Once good habits are established, it becomes easier to stay on track to your goals. Wishing you all the best for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Sincerely,
Tony DeCarlo

New Year, New Goals?

The captain of a ship plans his destination; prepares his ship; sets a course; checks his instrument panel; and charts his progress on maps to be sure that he is staying on course. In much the same way, we set and track goals for both our personal and business lives.

Having goals inspires us, drives us forward, and helps us to continually grow and improve. The best way to commit to and reinforce these goals is to write them down. Here are the basic steps to setting and achieving goals:

*  Dream and develop your goals;

*  Write your goals down on paper;

*  Plan small steps to reach your goal;

*  Remind yourself of your goals daily;

*  Chip away at the work;

*  Track your progress on a regular basis;

*  Review your results; and

*  Realign your goals or set new ones.

The start of a New Year is the perfect time to evaluate your business goals. Here's how you can review your progress:

*  Make a list of your major successes this year. What did you do that made these
   successes possible? Can you repeat it?
*  Make a list of areas for improvement. Make them your goals for this year.
*  Re-read your company mission and vision statements - is your progress aligned with
   them?
*  What other new goals can you set for this year and how can you plan out steps to
   achieve them?
