Happy PINK Month!  I'm sure you are already seeing a lot of ribbons and a lot of the color pink, but there is so much more to this month than that.  For me it's about honoring those in need.  Those of you reading this are doing so for a reason...you are a friend and supporter of Bikers Battling Breast Cancer, Inc.  And the reason for that is because you are affected or someone very special to you is or has been affected by this terrible disease.  We have had an amazing year at BBBC and I am honored and grateful to report to you that, just from this year's events, as of today we have donated and pledged $53,000 to local breast health organizations to help those in need.  

You, our donors, are helping to provide:

• A BBBC Cancer Patient Assistance Fund at Tanner Breast Health, established to assist women who are in need of financial assistance to assure that diagnostic testing of the breast is performed based on recommended guidelines. Approved diagnostic tests include:
  · Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
  · Breast Ultrasound
  · CT scan
  · PET scan
  · MRI
  · BRCA genetic testing;
• Assistance to Saint Joseph's Mobile Mammography program which serves corporate, community and clinic settings throughout the greater metro Atlanta area;
• Education and awareness materials to approximately 1800-2000 young women in at least six area high schools in the greater metro Atlanta area through Bikers Riding For Awareness and their fantastic mission to passionately educate young women about the importance of early breast cancer detection while empowering them to take control of their bodies, their health...their lives;
• And last but certainly not least, through our Pink Kick-Starter Project we are providing more and more information and organizers to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, currently in Cobb Wellstar and Piedmont Fayette and are looking to include several new facilities in the coming year.

You should be proud of what you have helped to accomplish.  Our beneficiaries thank you and we thank you.  We look forward to many more years of this kind of success with God's help and your support!  Let this month be the month you start your self-exams.  Remind those you love.  It could change your life...
