THIRTY DAYS AND COUNTING!!!

You may notice a different "look" to our email blast this time! We are preparing for Bikers For Boobs and this year we are honoring all branches of our military at the event. Our event shirts and goody bags will be military green and we now have for purchase our own BBBC military coin. If you don't know the history behind these coins, ask a soldier! Look for pictures of the coin in a later email. We will, of course, offer a discount with military ID. With two of our stops being an American Legion and a VFW post, we hope to bring a little patriotism into our celebration of life. Please make your plans to join us. Remember, the first 500 registered riders receive an event shirt and a goody bag which will hold, among other cool things, an event helmet sticker and one of our BBBC awareness shower cards! Created by artist tia lynn, this is BBBC's newest item and another step toward fulfilling our mission of education, early detection and awareness! SIGN UP FOR MAMMOGRAMS!!
With the help of the Mobile Mammography Unit from Saint Joseph's Hospital, BBBC will be providing mammograms to 23 deserving women on-site at our Bikers For Boobs event on Sunday, July 18, at the VFW in Carrollton. Participants must be pre-registered, 35 or older, cannot be pregnant, nursing nor have implants, along with other pre-registration requirements. If you or someone you know is in need of a mammogram, please contact Cathy Gailey at the number or email address above. We are excited and honored to be able to provide this direct support to you, our riders, and to work toward fulfilling our mission statement at BBBC.

"TIE ONE ON" AT BIKERS FOR BOOBS
If you participated in our poker run last year, you know what this means. We introduced a very fun element by having our riders bring bras which were attached to their motorcycles in various places. At the end of the ride, the bras were donated to the Breast Cancer Survivors Network for needy breast cancer patients. We need you to start collecting bras now for those who might not bring one on July 18. We can never get enough. Last year we had over 150 bras to donate. This year we want at least 300. Yes, someone is building us a much bigger Hope Chest!

This year in a continuing effort to honor our survivors, caregivers and those who have been touched by cancer (any cancer), we are organizing a slideshow of pictures of your friends, family and loved ones that will run throughout the day at the VFW. If you have someone you would like to honor, please email us your pictures at admin@bikersbattlingbreastcancer.org. We appreciate your help with this project as this is what this day is all about! |

Each year BBBC selects a wonderful woman to be our "Ms. 1-in-8." She is the face of all women touched by this terrible disease that our group battles every day. The crown and sash are not there to glamorize breast cancer, but act as another tool to bring more awareness to the fact that 1 in 8 women are touched by this disease, our "Ms. 1-in-8" steps into the Battling Brigade to help us fulfill our mission of education, early detection and awareness.
