Urban Immersion Opportunity |
Brooklyn Center Immersion Experience Gets Rave Reviews
This past March, six adventurous St. Scholastica education students participated in a one-week urban immersion experience in the Brooklyn Center Schools. Four undergraduate students and two graduate students had an opportunity to work closely with a mentor-teacher and a class of students. The experience had a significant and positive impact upon all involved.
One student captured the feelings of most participants when she said "I have always wanted to become a teacher, but after this experience I KNOW I want to be a teacher and I would feel comfortable working in an urban school setting. I am very thankful I was able to participate in this life changing experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!"
That same opportunity will be available to CSS students in March of 2011. Don't miss the chance to gain this valuable experience. Information sessions on the Urban Immersion Experience will be provided for interested students this fall and students can contact program coordinator Kevin Mackin ([email protected] ) with questions. |
