Pryor's Planet
Adoptions will be held Sunday, May 3rd
12051 Ventura Blvd. Studio City, CA 91604
(Corner of Ventura and Laurel Canyon Blvds.)
11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Greetings!

Pryor's Planet is in need of donations.  We have had to make some difficult decisions regarding dogs that were in need of rescue.  Unfortunately, without funds, we cannot help as many dogs as we did in the past.  This is all the more compounded by the increase number of dogs that are being dumped, abandoned and given up because of the economy and the foreclosures.

We need your help!  Please print out and post, mail or hand-out our Spring 2009 Fund-Raising Letter.  Let people know that there is a need and that 100% of the donations are used for the animals.

With everyone working together, we can help more animals in need.

We will be holding adoptions on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the corner of Ventura Blvd. and Laurel Canyon Blvd.  from 11:00 - 3:00.  Please stop by to say hi and meet the dogs!

General Manager of L.A.A.S. Resigns
Ed Boks
The head of Los Angeles Animal Services, whose attempt to cancel free or discounted spay/neuter services led some City Council members to seek a "no confidence" vote on his leadership, resigned Friday.

Councilmen Richard Alarcon and Dennis Zine sought a "no confidence" vote on Boks, but he resigned before the resolution could be voted on in a committee.

In addition to the spay/neuter snafu, council members pointed to the scuttled 2006 "Hooters for Neuters" bikini contest to collect donations for sterilization programs and the Pit Bull Academy, which would have allowed reformed felons to train dogs, as among Boks' less stellar ideas.

"I'm very pleased that it's come to a final solution," Alarcon said of Boks' resignation.

Meet Nicky Spots and Abbie Rose
Two great dogs that need homes!Nicky Spots
Nicky Spots is an adorable little guy.  He is about 2 years old, good with other dogs and loves everybody and anybody that will love him back.  He loves to go on long walks and is getting better on the leash.  He loves to snuggle and to always be in sight of his human.  He does best with dogs his own size or bigger and he may be ok with cats.  He needs a stress free home with a lot of  structure.  Nicky's Page

Abbie RoseAbbie Rose is a nine-month-old spayed female shepherd mix.  She is incredibly smart and well behaved.  She is good with other dogs, big and small and good with kids.  She is house-trained and not a chewer.  She is good on the leash and knows some of her basic commands.  She is a beautiful little girl looking for a loving family!  Abbie's Page

Missy has found the perfect new home.  She has two wonderful parents that are both practicing Veterinarians.  She has two little girls that like to throw the tennis ball for her and two cats.  Missy has a big back yard to lounge around in and watch the birds and squirrels in the trees.
