Ok. I'm ready for some Summertime!
As I drive around each day, I take note of the condition of our lawns, and everyone else's lawns (lawns having been my business for the past 30 years!), as well as the world in general. I've noticed a few things lately: there's a lot of clover, lawn fungus is starting, the dark-purple clematis vines are beautiful this year, and not surprisingly, we're still getting calls about drainage issues.
Our law fertilization technician is treating the clover with a spot spray as he makes the rounds of our properties. If you have one of our lawn Fertilization Programs (Gold, Silver or Bronze), this is part of your program and is done at no extra charge.
Furthermore, we'll be monitoring your lawn throughout the course of the season and we'll keep you informed of any potential problems. As I said, we are just starting to experience some fungus infections, mostly summer patch, brown patch and anthracnose. These infections can generally be controlled with an anti-fungal application.
Please let us know if your lawn is not looking right!

PNC Bank Pet Adoption Day  Earlier this month, the Flanders, NJ PNC Bank hosted a pet adoption day in conjunction with local animal shelters. Many pet-related businesses participated, including Steve's. We distributed coupons for discounts on installing Invisible Pet Fences, Artificial Turf Dog Runs, Organic-Based Fertilizers and Deer Tick Spray. We met so many great people and a good number of dogs and kittens were adopted to loving homes. It was a great day and a worthwhile event and we hope to see you there next year!
