D&K exhibiting at Focus on Imaging

FOCUS ON IMAGING is Europe's biggest annual imaging show which takes place on 6 - 9 March, NEC, Birmingham. The show covers everything from image capture through to output and beyond.  D&K Europe is taking space for the first time in view of its increased offering to the target market for this show.

Robin French, Managing Director, says "In 2010 D&K Group Inc acquired Bienfang Framing Products®, global manufacturer and distributor of framing products and accessories.  This acquisition includes the Bienfang line of mounting & laminating and consumables which will increase our product offerings and strategic positioning in the photo and framing markets."

On Stand Number F52 D&K will be showing the Expression® 3648 vacuum press, which with digital display and touch pad controls for ease of use offers a space-saving work surface and the option of processing several pieces of varying size and thickness simultaneously.   

For those looking for mechanical operation we are showing the Masterpiece 550 International which is versatile, dependable and will handle a wide range of sizes and artistic applications.  Benefiting from digital display and touch pad controls, the Masterpiece also has a pre-set program facility. 

On display as well will be the EXP Plus 42, one of the wide format laminators from the D&K range. The EXP is designed to offer a combination of versatility, economy and ease of use.  The EXP Plus 42 will process thermal, heat activated and pressure sensitive films up to 1040mm for mounting, laminating and encapsulating and D&K are particularly keen to display their increasingly popular Ultra Matt thermal films.

D & K Group has now ceased the manufacture of its SoluS Matt 125 micron product in favour of the new Ultra Matt coated film and consequently SoluS Matt 125 will no longer be available once existing UK stocks have been exhausted.

SoluS Matt 42, 75 and 250 will continue although as demand for the 250 micron product is rapidly diminishing in favour of Ultra Matt 250 it is likely that we will move to offer only the Ultra Matt product at 250 micron at some point in the future.

Although it has a higher price the new Ultra Matt retains much better colour definition, is scuff resistant, writeable and has a pleasant tactile feel. The contrast with conventional Matt polyester is most striking in the business graphics/large format field but is also evident in conventional encapsulation work and is finding popularity in the card market for business cards, loyalty cards and membership cards etc.

The production system used to manufacture the 125 micron version of SoluS Matt film is both complex and costly and can no longer be justified especially in the light of a good and viable alternative

D&K is pleased to appoint Northampton based Vellum Art as demonstration centre and UK distributor of D&K's framing products.

We are pleased to announce we are able to re-introduce Scuff Resistant Matt OPP laminating film. A limited quantity was made available some time ago and we have now managed to get further supplies of this 38 micron laminate. Its resistance to marking and scuffing makes it suitable for work that is likely to experience a high degree of handling, and while the slight sheen to the surface enhances text and graphics it is still quite non-reflective. Further quantities are expected imminently.'
