| The new Europa - fastest selling machine in the D&K range |
Since launching the Jupiter range (which now comprises both 25 and 30 m/minute single sided versions and a double sided version) just 4 years ago, we have often been asked for a low volume, lower cost option for today's print on demand market" says John Hancock, UK Sales Manager, "primarily for SRA3 or B3 size yet with the same level of automation and ease of operation on both litho and digital output. To answer this we developed the Europa fully automated lamination system and a B3 prototype was shown at IPEX earlier this year. D&K have always been a company that listens to its customers and the feedback at the show both from potential Europa users and distributors alike was that it would be far better at B2 size. As a result the production model has been made to take up to B2 sheet size.
In today's economic climate, cost too is very important and so the B2 Europa has been kept at the same price as the B3 prototype. I'm sure that the specification, build quality and modest price tag have all played a part in making the Europa the fastest selling machine in our range" commented Hancock.
Installation is quick and easy with our engineers giving full operator training once the
machine is installed and they are always available to give help and advice when needed.
The Europa has already gained multiple sales into Europe, Middle East and the Pacific Rim.

| Repositional wall graphics |
|
One of the uses for our MWA Graphic Wall Mount Adhesive is repositional wall graphics.
This product is a two-sided solvent acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive designed specifically for removable/repositionable wall and window graphics. The adhesive system features advanced microsphere adhesive technology that allows graphics to be removed or repositioned without leaving any adhesive residue behind.
The Graphic Wall Mount Adhesive is a clear polyester carrier film coated on one side with an extremely tacky adhesive that will permanently bond to a wide variety of substrates. The reverse side is coated with an advanced microsphere adhesive that firmly sticks to smooth, flat surfaces such as windows and painted walls, but can be repositioned without damaging surfaces or losing tack.
The repositionable microsphere adhesives provide a strong, yet removable bond due to reduced surface area contact with the wall or window. This repositionable side is protected by a moisture-stable release liner that is removed prior to use. The release liner can be retained for later use when removing or repositioning graphics. The Graphic Wall Mount Adhesive is recommended for short-term (6 months - 1 year) indoor applications such as wall graphics, murals, decals, and more. |

Jupiter DS proving popular thoughout Europe and beyond... |
|
There has been a recent increase in orders of the Jupiter DS fully automated lamination system which has been attributed partly to the popularity of producing photobooks.
Developed in response to the wish of many digital printers to laminate both sides of their output, it offers genuine improvements in productivity over two pass working. Based on the 30 metres per minute single-sided version, the DS has a bottom pre-heat and heated nip, as well as a bottom unwind. The control panel has been re-configured as the machine lay-out has been changed to make provision for the bottom unwind, but the design of the unit and workings of the controls will be familiar to those who have seen the Jupiter before. It will run at about 25 metres per minute double-sided (still at 30m/min. single-sided) and the electrically controlled heated bottom rollers takes very little time to cool down sufficiently to switch to one sided work. |
| Plastic prices to rise |
Due to increases in the cost of raw materials there is an imminent film price increase.
Strong global demand for polyester products in partcular have escalated the cost of basic polyester raw materials. Polyesters biggest increase has been in the making of TFT/Plasma Screens, Solar Panels, iPod and similar screens creating world-wide shortages.
We will be contacting all customers in due course giving notice as future prices rise.
