Six months ago two Shropshire based printers took delivery of the first RSL-382s laminators from Stuart Granger of Docu-Finish Solutions, one of D&K's appointed distributors

 

 
Badger Print & Design.  Chris Taylor, Director at Badger,  explains; "we produce both litho and digital output but it is mainly short run digital. Our old machine was not coping well with Digital stock and was only single-sided.
 

The new laminator is performing very well. It is easy to use and produces very good quality. Being able to laminate double sided is an advantage, in fact there is nothing about it we don't like.
 
I would recommend the RSL-382s to any small to medium sized printer."

 

Creative Digital Printing Ltd. Ian Relf, Director, says "we produce short run digital print and were doing a 60 mile round trip to take our work to be laminated.
 
We don't have a lot of space and so the small footprint of the RSL-382s appealed to us. The new laminator is performing ok, it is fuss free and the quality it produces is very good. If we have any complaint it is that the infeed table is too short making aligning the sheets difficult. (Note: an infeed table that is 70% deeper has now been manufactured and is available as an option to make feeding smaller sheets easier.)
 
I would recommend the RSL-382s to any digital printer or inplant; they can't go wrong."

 

 

 

All films should be stored in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and in the box they were shipped in, if possible. Also, consider using a first-in, first-out stock rotation system. Nylon should always be stored in the silver wrapper it came in - this helps maintain its inherent non-curl properties and prevents waste due to excessive moisture ingress.
 
Exposure of film to chemicals. Polypropylene has good resistance to chemicals - polyester and nylon do not. If these films have to be exposed to such an environment, it would be best for polyester and nylon to be situated as far from the chemical source as possible. The polypropylene may be stored closer to the chemical source with the proper bagging of any partial rolls.
