Come and visit us at this year's Northprint exhibition in Harrogate, 21-23 April. Demonstrations will be available for the following equipment:-
The Jupiter - a compact, fully automated B2 single sided laminator, which is now available in 25m/min and 30m/min versions, will be running the highly successful SuperStick® problem-solving adhesive for digital output. A double-sided version will be added to the range shortly.
The RSL-382s - a desktop 1-side/2-side laminator for digital, short-run and proofing applications up to B3 with speeds up to 4.5m/minute.
The Galaxy - a modular, hot roller lamination/encapsulation unit developed with digital output in mind; whether it be paper, synthetic paper or plastic. Its configuration is designed to produce the flattest possible finish to satisfy the needs of card manufacturers and fulfilment houses and further demonstrates the Company's commitment to providing quality solutions for today's finishing challenges.
Also at the show will be the Comet - our latest industrial Encapsulator designed for the trade user. Extra large pre-heat rollers are used in conjunction with specially coated and heated rubber nip rollers to give speeds of up to 25m/minute. The Comet benefits from many user friendly features, proven on our laminating machines, such as swing-out mandrels and PLC controls featuring a modem link for remote diagnostics.

The Comet has arrived!
D & K is pleased to announce the arrival of the Comet which had its European launch at Total Print! Expo in October 2008. The Comet will strengthen D&K's range of encapsulation machines and has been developed with the Trade Encapsulator and Card Market in mind.
The Comet benefits from being modular in construction and its adjustable height makes it fully compatible with a range of feeders and cutters.
The 260mm diameter Teflon coated pre-heat rollers make for scratch free results and the large 75mm diameter heated nip rollers, with advanced rubber compound, give maximum heat transfer for higher running speeds.
Amongst its many features the Comet has PLC control with modem link to enable remote diagnostics, swing out mandrels for easy film loading, pneumatic operation of all rollers to allow differing pressures on nip and pull rollers and ample cooling with variable speed fans, which only operate in start mode to save energy.

1979 - D&K Custom Machine Design formed in USA producing the first automated cutter for two-sided thermal lamination.
1980 - First automatic feeder produced.
1981 - First affordable one-side thermal laminator - the System 27 - launched.
1984 - D&K International is formed to move into thermal film production.
1985 - 300th System 27 installed.
1987 - D&K Europe Ltd established in Redditch.
1989 - 1000th cutter sold.
1993 - D&K acquire "Laminex Inc" - manufacturer of desktop and ID equipment.
1997 - System 3210 & System 3215 single sided B1 Laminators launched.
1999 - A range of Wide Format Pressure Sensitive films launched.
