December E-News

Dear Friend,

Merry Christmas from Grace Children's Home! In this season we celebrate the greatest gift ever given, Emmanuel, who is God with Us. Join us in this true celebration of Christmas as we share a few highlights of the evidence that God is in fact with us at Grace Children's Home.

In the Spotlight - David

Almost five years ago, David and his three siblings joined our GCH family. When we noticed David's sharp mind and aptitude for learning English, we began praying for more educational opportunities for him. God heard those prayers and David has been attending a private, bilingual school for four years. He has dreams of being a Christian rap artist one day, and we have no doubt in his ability to reach his dreams. David enjoys watching and reading about soccer as much as playing the sport himself. With a deep sense of national pride, he studies players' names, numbers, positions, and stats. David has a quick wit and can be very funny. His fun loving, jokester personality keeps our home from being too serious.

Quinceañera

Flor, Jennifer and Erika all turned 15 this year. On September 18th, we celebrated their Quinceañera. This is a traditional, coming of age event for young ladies in México. The girls chose to bring honor to God in a combined celebration. The day began with a service at church. A message was given, songs were sung, Bibles and purity rings were presented, and communion was taken. Later at the YUGO Ranch, a meal was served as the festivities continued. It was a beautiful day where God was honored and the girls were made to feel loved. We are thankful to all those who have poured into the lives of these three, beautiful young ladies and to everyone who contributed to this event.
New Boys' House Parents

We would like to introduce you to Pati and Carlos, our new house parents in the boys' home. Though this is a new role for Pati and Carlos, they are not new to our GCH family. Pati has worn several hats at GCH over the past two years including: cook, housekeeper and driver. Pati and Carlos have served together at GCH filling in as house parents on the weekends and taking our children to church on Wednesday evenings. Pati and Carlos have two children of their own, Alexis and Adonai, who have also moved in. Please keep this family and the boys' home in your prayers as everyone adjusts to these changes.

Fall Outreach

On Saturday, October 30th, we hosted our annual Fall Outreach at GCH.  As an alternative to the dark holidays of Halloween and Day of the Dead, we invited our neighbors to participate in this fun event focused on light and life offered through Jesus Christ. The afternoon included games, crafts and live music. A delicious meal was served and a gospel message was given. We praise the Lord of the Harvest that several children made decisions to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

GCH Giving Opportunity

Finally, we want to inform you of the financial situation of Grace Children's Home.  Giving to our general operating funds has been down and this has put GCH in a difficult situation.  These funds are used to buy food, put gasoline in the tanks, get medicine for the children, etc. If you are able, we'd like to ask you to pray and consider making a year-end gift to GCH.  Donations can be sent to:

Prayer Requests:

"He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what

He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord." Psalm 40:3

  • Pray that each one of our children would be given a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.
  • Pray that many will see what He has done in their lives and be amazed.
  • Pray that the testimonies of our children will cause many to trust in the Lord.
