Dear Friend,
|
Thank you for investing your prayers, time, talents and
finances into God's work at GCH. Please read about how the Lord is using those
investments to change and touch lives for eternity.

In The Spotlight - Mayra
|
Along with her three sisters, Mayra arrived at GCH in 2005.
Soon after their arrival, the Mexican social services decided to give their
family one more chance to care for them. We sadly said good-bye to these four,
darling girls. In the summer of 2007 the Lord returned the girls to our GCH
family where they have been thriving ever since. Thanks to a generous tuition sponsor, Mayra has been
enrolled in the private, bilingual school for two years. She is extremely bright
and excels in all subjects. She has a quick wit and a dry sense of humor. Despite
the difficulties Mayra has faced in her short life, she maintains a high
self-esteem and confidence in who God made her to be. Her focus on God's approval makes her a
joy to be around. Mayra is a calming
influence in the girls' home and a gift to our GCH family.

Easter Outreach
|
On Sunday, April 4th GCH hosted an Easter outreach. We invited all our neighbors to hear
the truth about Easter. The kids passed out invitations throughout the
neighborhood and worked very hard getting ready for the event. We decorated the
property, made cookies and prepared crafts and games for the kids. A meal was cooked
for over 50 adults and their children. After being presented with the Gospel of
Jesus Christ, 11 new souls entered the Kingdom and began their walk with Jesus.
We praise the Lord that He continues to use GCH to reach our community.

Mother's
Day
|
Though our children are not cared for by their biological
mothers, the Lord has faithfully provided many hands and hearts to share in the
responsibility of loving our children with a maternal love. During the Mother's Day events at the
children's schools, we rallied all our motherly troops to make sure that each
GCH child had someone there to represent them as "mom". The kids made gifts, performed and
played games with their tias. It
was a reminder that God supplies all our needs according to His glorious
riches, including the need for a "mom".

Our Kids Reach Out
|
Over the past three months, GCH kids and staff have
participated in three separate outreach efforts that were sponsored by Calvary Chapel, Rosarito. We first participated in a city cleanup
effort, where we picked up garbage in the city's main street, Boulevard Benito
Juarez. We picked up trash, spoke
to our neighbors about Jesus, and some of them even ate some tacos. On the second outreach, we painted the
entire exterior wall of a local school that was badly tagged up and shabby. With about 50 other volunteers from
church, we also cleaned up the exterior, picked up trash and made the place
look decent again. Our kids came
back with interesting shades of paint all over themselves, tired and grimy, but
with big smiles on their faces. On
our third community outreach, we were a part of the "Día del Niño" event, which
is a day to celebrate all children. Our older girls got dressed up as clowns and helped set up, direct and
participate in the many events, which included music, face painting, clowns, prizes,
dunk tank, and a clear presentation of the gospel of Jesus! Our kids are training to give of
themselves, to serve others expecting nothing in return, to love them as Jesus
would do. We're so proud of them,
that we wanted to share it with you.

Baby Home Update
|
The Baby Home project is moving forward quickly. Keeping up with God's faithfulness and provision has kept us very busy. Many faithful servants have come and worked to see this building go up. Many more have made plans to come down this summer and help see it through to completion. God is providing faithful partners who are giving to the project financially or through the donation of materials. In an effort to keep you updated more frequently on the ministry of Grace Babies' Home, we would like to announce the launching of our Baby Home blog site. Through this site you can also join (and share) our campaign to raise the operational funding for the home. Visit our new blog and help us Prepare the Way for the babies!

Current Needs
| Summer is quickly approaching. This means trips to the
beach, pool, fountains or wherever we can stay cool. Our kids need bathing suits and flip-flops. We've created a Target registry
with these summer needs. We have also created a Walmart registry with our
school needs for the fall. The
list contains mostly shoes and backpacks, as most of the uniforms will be
purchased directly from the schools. If you would like to help with these needs; you can shop, purchase and ship directly from either of these online registries. |
Save The Date
| On Saturday, September 18th, we'll be celebrating our first Quinceñera at Grace Children's Home. A Quinceñera is a traditional, coming of age event for young ladies in Mexico. Jennifer, Flor and Erika will all turn fifteen over the next six months. They have chosen to have a combined celebration in which they want to bring honor to God. If you are interested in attending, serving at, or donating to this event please contact us.

| Prayer Requests |
Pray that God would hedge our children behind and before and lay His hand of protection upon them. (Psalm 139:5)
Pray that God
would continue to meet all our children's needs
according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
Pray that our children would delight in the law of
the LORD... that whatever they do
prospers. (Psalm 1:2-3) |
