In The Spotlight - Luis
|
Luis is our oldest boy. He and his four sisters
joined our GCH family almost four years ago. Upon first impressions Luis seems to be quiet, thoughtful,
and reserved. When his comfort
level grows, he is funny, silly and playful. He especially loves to cut-loose
when he spends time with his sisters. Luis is meticulously neat and orderly. He
is wonderfully artistic and creative. He has been attending the private
bilingual school for three years; therefore his English is very good. Luis is a
pillar in our home. He is one who leads quietly and by example. We feel both
humbled and privileged to watch God work in and through Luis' life.

Tuition Scholarships
|
Our vision is to see our children grow to be men
and women of God; that they would be used to further His kingdom in Mexico and
throughout the world. A quality education will enable them to bring
Christ into the professional world, the medical world, politics, universities,
churches, or wherever God calls them. While the majority of our kids attend
private schools, currently four GCH children still attend the local public
school. Our heart's desire is to send these four children to a private school
next year where they will receive a better education. The cost to send a child
to the private school is $3,200 per student. This includes registration
fees, books, uniforms, and tuition for the school year. Please prayerfully consider giving this educational
opportunity to one of these beautiful children shown below.

GCH Kids Reach Out
|
Towards the end of December, we had an opportunity
to take ten of our older GCH children out to East Tijuana to minister to the
needy. Some kids sorted and distributed socks and shoes. Others built tables and benches. A
soccer game was organized with kids from the local community. At half time our kids shared their
personal testimonies. Later, armed with tracks and Bibles, we went door to door
to several homes in the neighborhood. Our kids boldly prayed for the needs of
the individuals we visited. One woman accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and
Savior. We are encouraged when we witness our children be used as vessels of honor for the Lord. We are
even more encouraged when we realize that this is just the beginning. We
believe that our children's powerful testimonies will continue to reach the
lost even unto the ends of the earth.

God Provides Technology
|
At the beginning of this year God provided a grant
to be used towards our computer lab. With this money we were able to outfit our
computer lab with five new Dell workstations. God's timing is perfect as our
kids are now coming home with more and more projects that require the use of a
computer. As our kids grow, we want to equip them with all the skills necessary to
enter the professional world and shine for Jesus. We are thankful that God has met this need.

God Provides For Our Smiles
|
In this New Year we have also watched God fulfill
our desire for proper dental care for our children. God touched several hearts and all the equipment and supplies were donated to
build a fully functioning dental lab in our education center. He also brought willing servants to do
the dental work. In January our children received x-rays, cleanings, and
treatment plans. In February we began treatment on their teeth. Praise the
Lord; we are well on our way to brighter smiles!

Calling All Construction Workers!
|
Progress on the Baby Home is slow but sure. Construction during the winter months
with the rain has been a little challenging. Several teams from the States have
graciously come and volunteered their time and talents. One wall at a time the
building is beginning to take shape. At this point we have two needs for this
project. First, we need more laborers. If you are interested in bringing a
construction team down to work on the Baby Home please contact us.

| Prayer Requests |
Pray that the Word of God would be our parenting manual in our GCH
family in order that our children may be complete and equipped for every good
work. (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
Pray that God will supply four tuition scholarships and the remaining funding
for the Baby Home project according to glorious riches.(Philippians 4:19)
Pray that our GCH staff and
leadership would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and
purpose.(Philippians 2:2) |
