Charcoal
Greetings!

Charcoal
is made by slow burning dry, non-toxic woods. Burned quickly, the wood turns to ash (which is still useful and sought out by wild animals for internal cleansing), so a charcoal pit has wet embers added to slow the process.

The charcoal can be bought as bulk powder or in capsules or found in antidote gels or liquids. I give capsules to small animals (one to a small dog or cat; up to 6 to a large dog) and give one cup of the powder mixed into water (make a thin paste to dose orally) or a bran mash for a horse. A Universal Animal Antidote gel is available in Vet supply catalogs. This is for use to absorb ingested toxins/poisons and pull them out of the body (the gel also contains bentonite clay).

Charcoal is amazing that way - HIGHLY absorbant (it is very porous and slightly laxative to get toxins out quickly), it will also absorb nutrients, so it should not be used on a daily basis for long periods. It is the base for Carbo Veg homeopathic that is used for collapse, vomitting, disorientaion. It is used by all medical practices for poisonings - and you must consult a professional in cases of suspected ingestion of toxins. Charcoal can heal diarrhea by nullifying the cause.

Charcoal can be used to freshen feed tubs and buckets (it is the filtering medium for fishtanks - keeping the water safe) by sprinkling them each week with powder. Charcoal will make a poultice (with clay or oatmeal) that will draw out infections. It can be taken by humans the moment you think you ate something "off". It even absorbs gas in the intestines (good for times you need relief or social help). Apple Cider Vinegar is another aid to prevent/treat food poisoning.

The FDA has not approved the use of ACV for treatments, but is fully aware of the antidote properties of the Charcoal. It is important to have on hand in the home and the stable.
