Herb of the Week

Panax Ginseng (Chinese) - Araliaceae
Greetings!

The Ginsengs are adaptogenic herbs; meaning that they exhibit both calming and stimulating properties depending upon the needs of the body.

Korean Ginseng is Panax schinseng
Siberian Ginseng is Eleutheroccocus
Wild American is Panax quinquefolium

The ROOT is used for Horses, Dogs and Humans to combat stress, support the circulatory sytem, to aid physical strength and recovery from distress, it fights fatigue, calms the nervous system and helps with mental clarity.

Rich in B vitamins (the premier nerve support and healing vitamin complex!), selenium, vitamins A, C and E (anti-oxidants); Ginseng is a nourisher of the body's DNA and RNA. Ginsengs contain ginsenosides, glycosides, sterols and volatile oils. Ginseng can lower blood sugar levels, can anti-dote some toxins, protect tissues from radiation and enhance the health of sex organs.

You can find Ginseng as an ingredient in many supplements for animals and people. If you supplement it by itself, start with small amounts and adjust as needed - it is a potent and pricey herb that is well worth its cost when it is needed! It can be fed as a dry, ground herb in the food or as a decoction; cooked into a tea.

The FDA and USDA have not approved this information on ginseng. We do not diagnose or prescribe for you or your animals - we offer this newsletter as information only.
