The Art of Compassion
Greetings!

Well, February is rushing toward us and we are still using dial-up internet service. Moving and establishing a new life entails many joys and some struggles! The websites, newsletters and blogs have suffered from the lack of DSL at the new farm... perhaps it is simply my lack of patience (and time!) that has kept us out of touch.

While using a friend's WIFI at her home today, I thought I would re-connect with all of you and ask for your patience as well! Dharmahorse is now located at Flying Horse Farm north of Las Cruces, NM. We have the Holistic Horse Care Workshop coming up on Feb. 6th, 2010 and, if you haven't signed up for it, there is still time - email me for a flyer. Out of towners, there is a possibility of staying at the farm for some of these clinics and workshops, just contact me about your interests. katharinechrisley@yahoo.com

On the 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st of February, 2010 we will present the Elderquestrian series of Clinics. I can email flyers to anyone interested. We will also be bringing in some outside, "big name" clinicians in the coming months and details will be forthcoming.

Sincerely,
Katharine Chrisley

The way we relate to our animals and to each other is really the definition of who we are and what we value in this life.

The person whose focus is always upon what others are "doing wrong" is the person who judges rather than observes. Judgement is appropriate for the horse show, the flower show, the courtroom... but for friends, companions and those we cherish, the critical remark either subtley or sharply despensed is often unnecessary if not downright cruel.

To always tell an animal when they are "wrong" without letting them know when they are "right" is another kind of cruelty. At Dharmahorse we believe in Clarity, Consistency, Calmness and Compassion in all relationships. This is the way to cherish each other.

Love is the active promotion of the wellbeing of the love object.

How do you love?
