 Herb of the Week
Raspberry - Rubus idaeus
Greetings!

Red Raspberry
is the premiere herb for female health of all species and is especially useful during pregnancies. That being said, we MUST state that a health care practitioner is necessary to evaluate the safe use of any herb during pregnancy!

Raspberry leaf herb, dried, is fed cut and sifted to mares (horses) or made into an infusion (a tea) that is poured over a mash. The herb strengthens the uterine wall and is used for urinary tract health and support. It prevents retained placenta/afterbirth and is tonic to the reproductive organs before conception and after giving birth. Herbalists feed it during the entire pregnancy.

People benefit from red raspberry leaf and fruit. The infusion of the leaf helps with menstrual cramps, excessive menstrual flow and bloating. The delicious fruits are equally effective during one's period to balance the body and the emotions. Both forms are also treatments for diarrhea and strengthen the uterine and renal systems.

Raspberry herb contains iron and niacin (very important for women) as well as magnesium and calcium. Raspberry is rich in Vitamins C and A.

These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. We do not diagnose or prescribe for you or your animals and, especially during pregnancies, consult a health care practitioner.
