Pau D'Arco inner bark from South America is an anti-tumor herb that is also used for yeast and fungal infections. The best way to prepare it is to make a
decoction by simmering the bark in pure water for 20 minutes. Use non-metal pots and utensils and cover the simmering brew. Let it stand covered for another 20 minutes after simmering. Strain and use or refrigerate for future uses.
The decoction is given internally to people, horses and dogs to fight candida/yeast infection or overgrowth and to slow the growth of and eliminate tumors. To make the decoction for DOGS: use 2 tablespoons bark in 4 cups of water. Give the brew in the food once daily - 1/4 cup liquid for dogs over 100 lbs.; 3 tbsp. for large dogs; 2 tbsp. medium; 1tbsp. small and a teaspoon for very tiny dogs.
For Horses: brew 2 big handfuls of bark in 3 quarts of water as above. Give 1 to 2 cups of liquid daily depending upon the size of the horse. You can feed the cut and sifted bark directly in the horse's food; about 2 tablespoons daily.
People can simmer a teaspoon of bark in a 1 1/2 cups water to make a cup of "tea" to drink each day.
The proven properties of Pau D'Arco are tumor reducing, system balancing effects that are useful with internal and external growths. By drinking the decoction, these properties work with the body's immune system to encapsulate and isolate the tumor, thus starving it which reduces and eventually eliminates it. Yeasts are also reduced by an enzyme-like action that "explodes" the spores and they no longer grow.
As with all herbs, use the herbalist's safety ways - start with a little bit and watch for any reactions. All metabolisms are different and some beings can have sensitivities to certain plants. Always consult with a holistic practitioner for treating disease and injury.
