Herb of the Week
Colostrum
Greetings!
Colostrum is the "first milk" that is provided by the mother's body for all mammals. It is full of antibodies, immune support, stomach balancing properties, infection fighters, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids.

Bovine Colostrum (from cows raised organically without the use of hormones, antibiotics or chemicals) can be purchased at health food shops for use with humans, horses or dogs (and cats!). This unique nutrient can strengthen the entire digestive tract and is used for ulcers, leaking gut syndrome (where gut contents leak through intestine walls and poison the blood), infections, diarrhea, constipation and colic.

This Colostrum will come in capsules, powder or even a liquid form. For balancing the digestive tract, it is ingested: humans take 4 to 8 capsules divided up throughout the day - horses need 12 to 24 capsules daily and small animals get 1 to 4 capsules according to size. Colostrum is taken orally to support the body systemically during infections, anemia, weakness and after detox.

I have applied the colostrum powder to heal septic wounds. We use it on diseases of the mouth, gums and throat of all species, applied directly. A friend was seriously ill with tooth abscesses and I packed her mouth with colostrum and colloidal silver many times daily (with her ingesting the mixture also) until she was strong enough to travel to the dentist. It was amazing.
