Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) is an acne fighting, liver cleansing, blood purifying blossom that is used for treating cancer because of its effect on protein assimilation. The blossoms should be steeped in pure water just off the boil because actually boiling the herb will destroy many of its beneficial properties. This infusion or "tea" can be taken, a cup at a time (it is a sweet, earthy drink) 4 times a day for the human. Adding honey helps for weakness and for stomach disorders or cancers.
Red Clover is high in Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium. This makes it a good tea to drink at the end of the day if you have muscle cramps during the night. We drank Nettle tea in the mornings and Red Clover at night when I lived on the organic farm, everyone had the most gorgeous skin and hair!
I have used Red Clover tea brewed for dogs with tumors and had success in reducing them. I drank it as a teenager along with taking 50,000 IU of Vitamin A daily for my serious acne (had a stressful youth).
Red Clover "cut and sifted" (dry blossoms) can be fed to horses, one handful daily and is generally used in cancer treatment for the equine. It will support the healing of skin disorders from internally - such as rainrot, greasy heel, etc. (the addition of Calendula Blossoms is very helpful, too).
Red Clover has actually been used for Leprosy, to purify the blood and support cutaneous structures; strengthen nerves.
