The Little Gym At The Little Gym

Back to School, Back to The Little Gym

Being a Kid is a Full Time Job

Remember when running, jumping, and climbing were all in a days work? When to-do lists and lunch meetings consisted of building forts and stuffed animal tea parties? While it may have seemed like play at the time, those activities actually helped you establish a healthy energetic lifestyle. Now that you have a little one of your own, that free-time to explore is still as important as ever. In fact, The The National Association for Sports and Physical Education (NASPE) recommends that children 12-36 months old engage in at least 30 minutes of structured adult-led physical activity and at least 60 minutes unstructured free play each day.

Weekly classes at The Little Gym are the perfect way to ensure your little one is getting enough active play. Your toddler will be hard at work learning important physical skills as they gain muscle control, balance, and coordination. Each new skill builds upon the last, eventually leading to more complicated tasks such as jumping rope, turning a cartwheel, or kicking a ball on the run. So help your child build the skills they need for a successful future. Skills they will carry with them on the playground, in the classroom, and throughout their life.

BACK TO SCHOOL!

By now parents, you have gotten back into the swing of school.  Hopefully the routine is getting easier for you.  I remember lugging my kids all over town to get them to their various activities....art, soccer, music and of course, The Little Gym.

Even though we have started our Fall Semester, it is never too late to enroll in our program.  Our individualized teaching to each and every child makes it easy for your child to feel right at home whenever they enter a class.

And for you soccer players...now that soccer is over, keep your skills honed by joining our Sports Skills class.  Each week we will focus on skills for a different team sport (and do gymnastics too of course).

Please see our schedule online at www.TheLittleGym.com/CorvallisOR or give us a call at 541-753-0950.  Better yet, come in and say hi and we will help pick a class that will suit yours and your child's needs.

Are you IN?
Have you logged in and checked out our announcements on our blog or our facebook?  How about Twitter?  If not, you could be missing out.....We have given away tee shirts, CD's and water bottles to people who are listening and watching and following us.  But wait.....right now we are having a contest.  If you write, add pictures or video and post a story about your child's adventures at The Little Gym, you could win a free Awesome Birthday Bash!

Speaking of which, we want to start posting pictures and video of your little cuties and their Ta Da moments on the above mention sites.  However, we need your permission.  Please look at the front desk in the gym for a waiver that we are having each and every member sign.  THANK YOU!
Parents,

Did you know that The Little Gym is a sponsor of Gen Beavs?  Gen Beavs is a children's support group of Beaver Athletics.  If your child is a member of that group, they are automatically a member of The Little Gym too. We do cross membership promotion with Gen Beavs, Corvallis Indoor Park, Corvallis Chamber, and Downtown Corvallis Association.  All you need to do is come to The Little Gym and show us some proof of membership to any of these groups.  Once you have done that,  we will activate your membership and you will get all the benefits of The Little Gym membership! (promotion for new members only).
Happy Handstands!
