Friends are Free at All VB Rec Centers in July!

FriendsAs part of our celebration of July as Parks & Recreation month, all Virginia Beach Recreation Center members can bring a friend to the rec center each day this month for FREE!

As long as they are accompanied by a member, friends can enjoy unlimited visits for the whole month! If your child has a membership, he/she can bring a friend along to enjoy the game room activities, swimming pool and gymnasium. The child's parent or guardian will need to sign the Liability Release on the Day Pass Application in order to utilize the facility, so be sure to have this completed ahead of time.

Adults are encouraged to bring a friend as well! Plan a workout together or go for a swim. Friends can also participate in group fitness classes by using a group fitness sampler or with the purchase of a punch card.

Rec Center Summer Drop-In Programs for Kids

Game RoomIt's been a hot summer so far, but the kids can beat the heat at our rec centers! Most centers have game rooms for kids that have a combination of table games like billiards, foosball, table tennis and air hockey as well as video games and board games. Our large recreation centers also have indoor playgrounds in the game room for ages 3-12. Each game room has scheduled program hours when the game room is available and staffed. The program hours and amenities for each center are available here.

Use of the game room does require a recreation center membership or day pass. Note that children age 5 & under must be directly supervised by someone age 16 or older at all times. Youth age 6-8 may participate during scheduled program hours until 8 pm as long as there is someone age 16 or older in the building. After 8 pm, children under the age of 12 must be directly supervised by someone age 16 or older.
