Middle & High School Kids Invited to Youth Forum

Youth ForumWe know that youth have an important role to play in shaping the vision for their community and their future. The City of Virginia Beach Mayor's Youth Leaders in Action and the Youth Opportunities Team are providing an opportunity for kids to express their ideas at a forum called Youth Out Loud - Tomorrow is Now! on Saturday, March 26 at Larkspur Middle School from 8 am to 3 pm. Their work at the forum begins the process that will ultimately result in the Virginia Beach Youth Platform, developed by youth for use by the community.

During this free event, Virginia Beach youth will work in small groups to discuss the issues that they've determined are important to them and formulate solutions that will create the future they envision. After a break for lunch, the students will share their opinions with community, school and city leaders.

The forum is limited to 200 Virginia Beach middle and high school students. Completed registration forms must be received by March 19. Lunch will be provided. For more information, contact the Youth Opportunities Office at 385-0464, or email
