Bayville Farms Park Benefits from PLANET Day of Service

Clearing TreesThanks to a joint effort by STIHL Inc., local tree companies and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation, Bayville Farms Park was the focus of a day of cleanup and beautification activities. STIHL is a supporting sponsor of the annual Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) Day of Service, when PLANET members and partners across the nation conduct landscaping projects to benefit their local communities.

On April 22, Earth Day, STIHL employees, along with Poor Folks Tree Service and Bartlett Tree Experts, volunteered their time and equipment to provide a variety of service projects to the park, including the removal of hazardous trees, tree planting, tree pruning, stump removal, stump grinding, spreading of mulch and pine straw, cleaning of flower beds, and replenishment of volleyball court sand and playground mulch.

Bayville Farms Park is a 68-acre park located at 4132 First Court Road, near Bayside Recreation Center. The park features ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball courts, playgrounds and a 20-hole disc golf course.
