Adult Spring Softball Registration 
 

Adult SoftballPlay ball! City-Wide Athletics Spring 2010 Adult Softball team registration will be February 22 through March 12. Fee is $500 per team. Men's, women's and coed leagues will be offered.  Practices begin April 1 and the season will run from the end of April through late July. Each team consists of a maximum of 20 players.

 

Registration information will be posted on VBgov.com/sports by February 17.  You can also get on our mailing list for a team registration form by calling the City-Wide Athletics Office at 358-0458.

 

A few notes about registration:

  • Registration is taken on a team basis at the City-Wide Athletic Office (4001 Dam Neck Road). Each team pays a franchise fee at registration.
  • Participants must be 18 years old or out of high school.
  • Games are held at various ball fields throughout the city.
Register early! Leagues are subject to close-out prior to the last day of signups.
Spring Coed Sand Football
 
Sand FootballLove to play football? Like the beach? Give sand football a try this spring!  This 6 on 6 coed flag football league has been around for over 20 years and administered by City-Wide Athletics since 2005.  The sport is challenging, but you'll have a blast playing in the sand!
 
Gather up your friends and put together a team of up to 15 players.  Keep in mind that you must have a minimum of two female players on the field at a time.  Games consist of two 40-minute halves and are played on the beach at 25th Street on Sunday mornings.
 
Team registration is February 1-12 at the City-Wide Athletics Office located at 4001 Dam Neck Road.  Entry fee is $675 per team. The season runs from March to May.

Youth SoftballGet your daughter involved in team sports! Neighborhood Recreation Associations will hold girls softball registration on Saturday, March 6 and Saturday, March 13. Registration sites and times will be available on VBgov.com/sports by February 15. Please note the following: 
  • Recreation Associations charge a registration fee.
  • Online registration is encouraged where available.
  • Proof of age is required.
    • Leagues sponsored by Parks and Recreation are open to ages 10-18 (age as of May 1, 2010).
    • Most areas sponsor leagues for children under age 10 and some offer boys baseball as well.
  • Players must be a Virginia Beach resident and attend school (K-12) to be eligible.
  • High school varsity and junior varsity softball players are not eligible.
