Parks and Rec at Glance: FY09 Annual Report

Annual ReportYou may be surprised to learn just how far the Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation Department spans in terms of services, programs and facilities offered.  In addition to providing and maintaining vital open space for the City, we offer six community recreation centers with indoor pools, numerous athletic fields, three municipal golf courses and a municipal tennis center, a boat ramp, a fishing pier and more. Throughout these facilities, we offer programs for children, teens, adults, seniors and people with disabilities. See what we've accomplished in the past fiscal year with a look at the 2009 Annual Report.

Creeds Athletic Airfield Park, First Colonial High School, Green Run High School, Kellam High School, Lynnhaven Park (also offering lighted basketball courts), and Ocean Lakes High School have lighted tennis courts.

Lark Downs Park (near Kempsville Recreation Center) offers lighted courts by request during recreation center hours.

Owl Creek Municipal Tennis Center offers lighted courts until December 15, 2009.  Please call 385-2695 for court availability and information on the indoor bubble.
