Greetings!
If you find yourself short on time this month and can't get on the course for a round, why not stop by for some practice? In addition to driving ranges, all municipal golf courses offer putting greens, chipping areas, and practice bunkers. Work on your short game and you'll find your score improving over time. Or, as the great Arnold Palmer jokingly advised, "I have a tip that can take five strokes off anyone's golf game: it's called an eraser."
As always, if you're looking for some instruction, we offer a variety of group classes to meet your needs. See what's available and also look for our new program catalogs in September.
The pro shops at Bow Creek, Kempsville Greens and Red Wing Lake are extending the 20% discount on all golf bags in stock for the month of August. If you're in the market for a bag, come check out our selection! |

Fun Fact: Know the Rules
Do you play by the USGA Rules of Golf? When in doubt, ask your local golf pro for assistance.
Tom Watson had an especially embarrassing two-stroke penalty during the 1980 Tournament of Champions in Carlsbad, California. Watson forgot he had broken the rules when he gave advice to Lee Trevino during the match. Watson won the tournament by three strokes, but was still red-faced because months earlier he had published a book entitled The Rules of Golf Explained and Illustrated.
