Kempsville Greens Bank Stabilization Project
The sod has been laid on the fairway at the first hole and hole eleven will soon be addressed. The bulkheads have been completed. Two ponds have been worked on to stabilize the banks with vinyl bulkheads. While the project has been under construction, two temporary greens have been in place, reduced green fees were implemented and a "pay for 18 and play all day" deal was created. It won't be long before the temporaries will be a thing of the past; however, the "pay for 18 and play all day" special will continue through Labor Day. |

Fun Fact: Incredible Ace
In 1987, Walter Dietz scored his first hole-in-one on the 155-yard 7th hole of the Manakiki Golf Course near Los Angeles. What makes it so remarkable was that Dietz was blind. "I played that course a thousand times when I could see," recalled Dietz. "The first time I played it as a blind person, I got a hole-in-one." |
