Volunteer Opportunities at Literacy Source
Literacy Source, a community learning center for adults, is seeking volunteers to help us build a more literate and self-sufficient community.  Let us know if you're interested in an opportunity to serve, or refer a friend!
Rewarding Tutoring Opportunities Available!  We are currently recruiting tutors to work with beginning level English as a Second Language learners, native English speaking students, and citizenship applicants.  If you are interested in learning more about adult education, English language, or citizenship instruction and are available for 3 hours of tutoring per week, this is the opportunity for you!  Tutors with day-time availability are needed. Training is provided.  To learn more, please contact
 
Class co-instructors needed!  We need classroom co-instructors to provide lessons and support for small groups of ESL and Basic Skills students.  Training is provided.  We are recruiting co-instructors for the following classes:
  • Basic Computer Skills, Mondays & Wednesdays 9:30-11:30 am
  • Computer Skills for Job Seekers, Wednesdays 2-4 pm - Help students build resumes, search for jobs, and fill out applications online. Curriculum provided.
  • Beginning ESL, Mondays 12-12:30 pm
  • Intermediate ESL, Mondays 12-12:30 pm
  • Advanced ESL, Mondays 7-8:30 pm
  • Citizenship & Civics, Tuesdays 5:30-7 pm - Help citizenship students increase their understanding of U.S. civics while building their English skills.
  • Beginning Literacy, Wednesdays 10:30-12 pm - In this class, instructors will help ESL learners develop their foundational skills for writing.
  • Intermediate ESL, Wednesdays 5:30 -7 pm
  • Intermediate Writing, Wednesdays 7-8:30 pm - Instructors are needed in this class to help ESL learners to continue improving their writing skills.

Fundraising expertise wanted! The Literacy Source Board of Directors is looking for members with backgrounds in fundraising to help raise money for valuable services provided by Literacy Source.  The Board of Directors fund development committee has opportunities for volunteers who want to get important fundraising experience and to help Literacy Source thrive!  If you are interested please contact Anne Helmholz.
