Student Support Services
Resources for ABE & ESL Adult Learners and their Families
Learn about services to support your learner!

Greetings!,

As a volunteer tutor or teacher at Literacy Source you are likely developing a close relationship with your student. In the process of getting to know one another, you may find that your student has needs outside of the classroom or issues that should be addressed by someone other than you. As Student Support Specialist at Literacy Source, part of my job is to help direct your students to the appropriate community resources so you can focus on teaching and learning with your student. You may decide to refer your student to me, for example, if they need help finding a tutor for their children, if they have no health insurance and need to see a doctor, if they need help applying for public assistance, or if they have some legal troubles and don't know where to turn. I can meet with your student to talk further and then direct them to where they may be able to get help. I encourage you to give me a call if you are interested in learning more about what community resources are available.

If you have any questions about student support services don't hesitate to give me a call, send me an email, or drop by and say hello next time you are at the center!
