CELEBRATING a skill learned like diving in the pool for the first time sounds like one big splash and then, "I did it!"

BDC PARKING LOT REMINDERS
Thank you in advance for keeping our busy parking lot safe for children and families. Please following these guidelines:
- Always follow the directions of the BDC Parking Attendants wearing orange vests.
- Put away your cell phone so that your full attention is on driving and parking.
- Use the Safe Path (through the trees) to stay away from cars.
- Turn off your car when you go to get your campers.
- While in the parking lot, children should remain with you (not playing with rocks in the parking lot.)
- We are smoke free campus. Please refrain from smoking in your car while in our lot.
THANK YOU!

These girls CELEBRATED BDC by writing a NEW camp birthday song and teaching it to the whole camp - hand motions and all!

GENERAL BDC REMINDERS
Not sure what the Camper Expectations are at BDC? Go here to read BDC '12 Camper's Guide.
Remember to pack a HUGE lunch with lots healthy snacks. Campers burn nearly twice the amount of calories while playing at camp than they do sitting at a desk in school.
Get lots of sleep. Most campers need more sleep in the summer because their bones are growing much faster now than in the winter due to all of the vitamin D from healthy exposure to the sun.

Hello BDC Family and Friends,
When I walk around camp this week, I am struck by something very special. As far as the ears can hear, the sounds of children laughing, singing, and playing fill the air. As natural as the salty wind gently blowing through the scrub pine trees on Cape Cod, I hear the joy of children CELEBRATING childhood. These are rich sounds of excitement and achievement, of anticipation and mastery. The sound of a successful camp is like no other. The eager and caring encouragement of adults is the baseline and the gleeful chipper of confident children becomes the melody.
Excellence surrounds us at BDC. You can see it and hear it! Come to BDC and listen for yourself. If this is your first week, we CELEBRATE your arrival. If you have been with us for a bit, we are excited to share the news that this week we have NEW MERCHANDISE in the camp store:
- Micro-fiber Swim Towels for $20 - BDC Swim Shirts in new colors and sizes
Come find me and the other directors on the Welcome Walk so that we may share some very special BDC... CHGS+P!
Milisa 'misa' Galazzi, DirectorBrewster Day Camp
PS. Have you ever stood on water? I did this week and it is fantastic! There is still room to sign up for Stand Up Paddle boarding on Friday afternoons. There is also still room in the first Water Wizz Trip this Thursday. Call us at 508-896-6555 or stop by the BDC Office for details.

Campers are enjoying the BDC Waterfront and especially our specialized BDC Sailing School where campers learn sailing and racing skills in a highly customizable and personalized educational setting. Go here to read more about our BDC Sailing School. |
Did you CELEBRATE our country's birth? We hope that you had a wonderful 4th of July with family and friends enjoying some inter-dependence! Milisa 'misa' Galazzi (left) and Marcia Galazzi (right) are pictured here getting ready to be in the Orleans, Mass. parade. Special thanks to Sparky's Hay Ride for being part of our "float" by driving behind the camp activity bus with many happy campers who waved the BDC flag throughout the parade.

Sometimes CELEBRATING just sounds like a good hearty belly laugh shared between a camper and counselor. This is camp at it's best!
