Some CONNECTIONS at BDC have been over a lifetime - his not hers! This first year tent counselor started at Family School when he was an infant. Now that's some CONNECTION to this place!

BDC PARKING LOT
Thank you in advance for keeping our busy parking lot safe for children and families. Please following these guidelines:
- Always follow the directions of the BDC Parking Attendants wearing orange vests.
- Put away your cell phone so that your full attention is on driving and parking.
- Use the Safe Path (through the trees) to stay away from cars.
- Turn off your car when you go to get your campers.
- While in the parking lot, children should remain with you (not playing with rocks in the parking lot.)
- We are smoke free campus. Please refrain from smoking in your car while in our lot.
THANK YOU!

GENERAL BDC REMINDERS
Not sure what the Camper Expectations are at BDC? Go here to read BDC '12 Camper's Guide.
Remember to pack a HUGE lunch with lots healthy snacks. Campers burn nearly twice the amount of calories while playing at camp than they do sitting at a desk in school.
Get lots of sleep. Most campers need more sleep in the summer because their bones are growing much faster now than in the winter due to all of the vitamin D from healthy exposure to the sun.

When counselors help campers make good choices for their afternoon Choice Activity Period everyone feels CONNECTED.

TINY BITS OF SPACE
We have a little tiny bit of space left in camp in some groups during a few weeks.

Hello BDC Family and Friends,
As we begin Week #2 at camp we are making so many CONNECTIONS: Campers are meeting new friends and CONNECTING with people from the past; Campers, staff, and families are learning to be an inter-dependent and CONNECTED community of people who care about one another and share this time and place.
In spite of some damp opening days, BDC'12 is off to a tremendous start! Our staff did such an wonderful job welcoming campers and making magic happen at camp. They did SUCH a wonderful job that--at pick up time on Day One--parents stood on the camp office porch adding time and BDC Extras (see below) to their children's already full schedules. Now that is a compliment!
No matter the weather...BDC is a place where kids want to spend more and more time. Thank you for voting with your feet!
As we continue to CONNECT with one another, please pay special attention to the notes about our Parking Lot and What to Know about BDC. If you ever have a question or compliment, please call our office at 508-896-6555 or find a director on the Welcome Walk at drop off or pick up.
A Reminder: BDC is CLOSED, this WEDNESDAY, JULY 4th so that you may CONNECT with your family and friends and share some...
CHGS+P!

PS. Wonder what all the BDC acronyms stand for? Go here for all and look for the BDC Lingo page in the Program section!

Oreo, the camp bunny, travels from St. Louis each summer, to help campers at BDC CONNECT with each other. When was the last time you saw thirteen 2nd grade boys sitting and enjoying the company of each other? Animals have a way of teaching us human beings how to CONNECT with each other. Amazing!

"Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather."
