Words and AfterWords
WORDS and AFTERWORDS    Hardy, Arkansas                       Spring 2010
 Greetings!

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary April 1-2.  Its hard to believe its been 3 years since this wild ride started, but we've been enjoying every minute though sometimes its hard to hold on.  What started as a book store with a coffee nook next door has turned into a gourmet restaurant with live entertainment, art, and literature.  Let me take this space to say

                                THANK YOU

for your help in making our efforts successful and being a follower of our cause.   Please, please continue to tell your friends and neighbors.

Spring time comes to Spring River Country and we are doing our best to help you embrace it with book signings, live musical events, great food, and new literature.   Since I last wrote (yes it was Christmas 2009 sorry) we did some remodeling at Words to accommodate more items and change the flow of traffic.  At AfterWords, Kimberly Campbell (who joined us as cafe manager in August 09) has be enhancing our menu,  creating a wonderful dinner menu, and most of all bringing greater musical performances to the weekend lineup, including adding Special Sunday Events.
Bonnie Sweet joined the gang on Fridays to MC the music.  Bonnie adds that special touch of class to the evenings activities.

We have a great line up of talent for AfterWords AfterHours including the return of Spring River's own Gerry Moss plus Nashville folk singer Wil Maring with Robert Bowlin.  During our regular Thursday Open Mic events, we have discovered many new performers.  We have several book signings in May as well as some great new artwork by our own Sandra Couch.   We have added Smoked Trout and roasted chicken to our dinner menu plus we are still wowing folks with our Grand Slam Burger.

We are looking forward to seeing all our seasonal friends as they return to the area and catch up on the happenings of the past winter.  I have been contributing "Words on Books" a article on book news to a new monthly glossily magazine for our area called Avenues.  If you live out of the area, you may want to get a subscription, to stay in touch.

Find us on Facebook or stay tuned in to our events link online for the latest updates. I have listed just a few of the many things happening at Words and AfterWords below.  We hope you will tell your friends and neighbors about Words and AfterWords.

Fiery Scottish Roots/Folk Rocker OonaLove comes to AfterWords Saturday May 29th. Oona fell in love with the Hardy area, when her manager Holli Tucker brought her through on tour. Oona says that music makes her soul shine, and that it does. From hard rocking modern tunes, to soulful blues, to classics, to her own contemporary 'folksy rock' tunes, she is turning heads, bringing joy to her audiences and keeping her fans coming back for more.  Her songs are raw and filled with the same passion she expresses with her voice and guitar.

Oona says she is inspired by Hardy. She loves taking time off touring to return here to write. Three songs off her upcoming album were inspired by and written in Hardy.
