Landscape architect Craig Studer will focus on the integration of art in the garden. Studer will talk about the ways that sculpture, follies and other works of art can become an important element in landscape design. The lecture will take place at the Ridgefield Library at 2pm.

CLASSES ABSTRACT EXPLORATION Conceptual and stylistic developments will be emphasized. Students looking to fine tune their work, progress to the next level, or just have a great time are all welcome. Bring canvasses, paper, brushes, paints - anything that will enhance your creative spirit. Instructor Dan Becker holds an MFA from Dartmouth and a BS in Painting from Skidmore College. He has been teaching art for many years. Fridays - 10:30am - 1:30 pm (5 sessions) $170 members/$200 non-members; drop-in fee $40. Please contact the Guild at 438-8863 to register.

OPEN STUDIO @ THE GUILD The Guild's upstairs studio is available Thursdays and Sundays from 12:30-3:30 for OPEN STUDIO for a flat fee of $20 per artist. Please call the Guild to reserve a spot.
Member Rick Rodamer would like to start an informal monthly critique group to discuss artwork in progress or finish work. The group will meet at the Guild and there will be no fee. Please email Rick directly at [email protected]. Please put "Critique Session" in the subject line and suggest time/day of the week that would work for you. Rick will organize the response and be in touch.
CALL FOR ARTISTS

Artists are being sought to participate in the Spring Into Art auction to help raise money for St. Patrick's School on Friday evening April 1, 2001. The evening will will include an artist gallery and sale, musical entertainment, wine, beer and light fare. Artists are invited to submit works that include, but are not limited to painting, drawing, photography, collage, sculpture, ceramic and jewelry. Artists will, of course, receive free admission to the event as well as 60% of the revenue from the sale of their work during the event.
Artists are not required to attend the event. The school is asking that interested artists please contact Dorothy Monaco at 914-234-7914 with any questions regarding logistics. Forms are kindly asked to be submitted by 5:00 pm on March 23. Premiere posting will be given to those artists who submit their forms on or before 5:00 pm March 11, 2011.

The Board will consider hosting one or two shows a year proposed by Guild members. Please note: This is not an opportunity to propose a solo show!

Suzanne Ashley's current show New Pastels runs from February 15-March 14 will have an artist's reception on Sat, March 12 from 2-4pm.
Jean Tock's mixed media exhibition Optimism in a Lonely World will run from March 15-April 14. An artist reception will take place on Sat, April 2 from 6-8pm.
