Greetings!

Recently Mother Nature has been having fun with the humans and the animals. One day it's hot, the next it's cold! Or a bright sunny day is followed by heavy rain. She certainly has been keeping us on our toes!

With the crazy summer weather, we're having hot and humid weather early. So be sure to have water available for your pets, even on walks. Sometimes we just need to leave them at home so they're safe.

Did you know that on a 75-degree day a car heats up to 100 degrees in 10 minutes, even with the windows cracked open! So please be very careful when you take your pet for a ride with you. Here's more information on hot weather tips and signs of dog heat stroke.

Many dogs are upset by thunderstorms and fireworks. Please be sure your pet has a collar with identification and/or is micro-chipped. Better yet, leave them home with doors and windows securely closed for such events. Too many pets are lost at this time of year because they were frightened and ran.

Rescue® Remedy, available at pet stores and food coops, may help take the edge off their fear. Calmly and quietly talk with your dog. Let them go to a secure place in the house. Slowly and gently stroke your pet. Use TTouch® touches if you know them.

Sometimes a tee-shirt can calm a dog. Also a Thundershirt can calm a dog or cat -- Yes I said cat! Just be sure to use this also when it is not noisy or stormy so that they don't connect the two. Call me if you need more ideas on how to make your pet comfortable.

Thank you to all who have trusted me with their pets. I'm always amazed at what the animals tell me, and how Healing Touch for Animals® (HTA) and TTouch® can help them. Animal communication helped a pet parent after grieving for a year. Grab some tissues as you read Chivas and Hoosier's stories.

Dr. Jessica Levy of Holistic Veterinary Care recommended me when no one could find the reason for a dog's pain. Using animal communication and HTA, the discomfort disappeared (tissue alert).

And recently Ann Platt of Pets Are Inn contacted me about a client's very frightened dog. Over the phone, I helped both the dog and her host family by explaining body language and TTouch® techniques. These experiences are what makes my life's work so rewarding. Thank you everyone!

Please feel free to call or email me with any questions, concerns, suggestions, or comments. I love hearing how you and your pets are doing.

Enjoy Mother Nature this summer. Sit back and enjoy "What a Wonderful World" video that took my breath away!

Take care,

Elaine
