Looking for a new way to decorate your mantel this holiday season? This year, try stepping away from traditional reds and greens. Bright shades of pink, orange and blue can inspire a fresh take on Christmas decorating. Here is how to get this look in just four easy steps.
-Start by hanging artwork above the mantel that includes some non-traditional colors.
-Let the painting be your guide and select ornaments in coordinating colors. Place them in clear glass vessels or bowls gathered from around your home. Containers in various heights make the display more interesting.
-Once your vessels are in place, tuck some greenery around them. Instead of pine boughs, look for holly, mistletoe or even ivy for a more unique look.
-Weave a length of pretty ribbon through your greenery to pull all of your elements together.
