COLOR WITH CONFIDENCE.....
Color can dramatically alter any space within a home. The possibilities made available to us by modern paints are almost limitless; traditional and modern homes alike can be transformed through the clever use of color. In your romance with color and your search for just the right hues, you want the color choices throughout your home to connect to each other. If you can see one room from another, the relationships of the colors between the rooms will affect your comfort level. Unrelated colors can jar the senses, while related colors promote harmony and a peaceful flow from room to room. Pale colors and whites can instantly refresh a tired room, giving a clean look and creating a bright spacious atmosphere. Rich colors bring boldness, passion and energy to rooms. You'll feel warmer in a red room because the intensity of the color affects your energy level and makes you feel vibrant and alive. Red lighted by white is a more relaxed, nurturing tone. When using a dramatic red, keep the rest simple to avoid visual overload. Get to know your reds before committing to one. It's a special kind of love affair!

Employee Spotlight.... George Proux
 George has worked in the furniture business for 58 years starting at Gately's in 1951. He began his career with Art Sample Home in 1970. He had grown up with Ed and Gerritt Wierda, the previous generation of Art Sample owners, and when the store moved from Washington Avenue to North Michigan Avenue in Saginaw, he wanted to be part of the team. So George just showed up one day after the new store opened and declared he was ready to work. He's been around ever since! He tried retiring once, only to return on a part-time basis with new responsibilities. Over the years, he's even enjoyed working with 9 of his own family members! His son Mark, is the current sales manager. His son Mike is the former service manager. Between George, Mark, and Mike, the Prouxs have logged in over 100 years at Art Sample Home! His daughters Julie and Sue worked at Art Sample Home at one time too. He's also worked side by side with 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. George started in sales, and has worked in the warehouse and with inventory control. He's pretty much done it all! George and his wife Sophie just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in May. It's truly a family affair with the Proux family at Art Sample Home!
